10,000 WWII crime cases may go public

- They range from Belgian charges against Adolf Hitler to the trial of
a Japanese commander for inciting rape.
- The archive of hundreds of thousands of pages in 400 boxes has been
closed to the public for more than 60 years.
- Three leading researchers have asked U.N. Secretary-General Ban
Ki-moon in a letter to "take the necessary steps to ensure full public
access to all the records."
