Examiner.com: After court ruling, states poised to follow in Arizona's 1070 footsteps

Following last week's Supreme Court hearing, supporters of Arizona's controversial anti-immigration law SB 1070 were buoyed by the predominant tone among the justices that seemed to infer they were inclined to side with the state of Arizona on this issue. It seems almost certain at this point that when the court issues its final ruling sometime later this summer, at least some parts of the law will be upheld, if in fact the law is not approved in its entirety.

Now, just a week after Arizona took its case to Washington, there is already evidence that, as expected, other states are preparing to follow the example of our own. Sixteen states originally filed amicus briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court declaring their support of Arizona and SB 1070, many of these likely waiting for the court to come back with its decision in anticipation of crafting their own anti-immigration laws.
