JONESBORO, Ga -- A Clayton County subdivision may be able to rest easy after three teenagers were arrested in connection with a string of more than 20 burglaries. Clayton County Police said they were stealing everything from guns to cars.
Police said they made the arrest with a high presence of undercover officers in the neighborhood and help from residents. "We don't know if it's a ring right now but due to the evidence we have there should be more arrests," said Lt. Chris Windley.
At a news conference at Clayton County Police headquarters Tuesday, police displayed some of the guns they recovered including rifles and handguns. Seven of those guns came from a gun cabinet in Regina Thompson's home in the Drakes Landing Subdivision.

Thompson said the burglars also stole her 2004 Corvette out of her garage. She and her husband noticed it was gone when they returned from the doctor's office last Thursday. "I was very upset that it was gone and then he (husband) came around to the back side of the house and we saw that the door had been kicked in," Thompson said. "It's like you don't even want to go in there because you don't know if somebody is still in the house."
But they did go in and found their home ransacked. Drawers and cupboards were flung open and their television was gone But more importantly, their twenty-some years of feeling safe in their own home was stolen. "It's like I'm afraid now to be here by myself at all," Thompson said. "I don't want to stay here, I want to move and so we're going to move." The Thompsons have lived in the Drakes Landing subdivision for twenty-two years.
Not even the arrests of two 16-year olds and a 15-year old will ease their fear. "Because they're juveniles, they'll be right back out and nothing's going to happen to them," Thompson said.
Lt. Windley said the juveniles confessed to approximately 20 burglaries in the Drakes Landing subdivision. He said they recovered numerous weapons and six vehicles that were stolen. "At this time the investigation is continuing with more arrests to be made," Lt. Windley said.
